How a web development project works

1. Discovery and architecture. We clarify goals, sitemap, content model and technical requirements, and agree a written specification before development starts.
2. Design and prototype. High-fidelity designs for the key pages, reviewed with you and refined before build.
3. Build. Templates, components, integrations and the content structure are developed on a staging site you can review as it takes shape.
4. Quality assurance. Cross-browser and device testing, performance and security checks, and migration of content from your existing site.
5. Launch and handover. DNS cutover, SSL, caching and analytics go live, followed by a handover session and the post-launch support period.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only build WordPress websites?

No. WordPress is one of the platforms we use most (see our Custom WordPress Development service), but we also build headless sites with Next.js or React front ends and custom web applications. The platform is chosen to fit the project, not the other way around.

Do you use page builders such as Elementor or Divi?

No. Whatever the platform, we build in code rather than with page builders. Page builders load a lot of CSS and JavaScript that a page never uses, which slows sites down and makes them harder to maintain.

Can I manage the site myself after launch?

Yes — that is an explicit design goal. Whatever the platform, we set up an editing experience your team can use to update pages, publish posts and manage products without code, and we include a walkthrough video and a written guide.

Can you migrate my existing website?

Yes. We migrate posts, pages, users, media and, where relevant, WooCommerce products and orders, and keep your old site live until you approve the new one. Existing URLs are mapped to their new equivalents with 301 redirects to protect your search visibility.

What hosting do you recommend?

We are hosting-agnostic. For WordPress we usually suggest managed hosting such as Cloudways, Kinsta or WP Engine, depending on traffic; for Next.js front ends, a platform such as Vercel. We can set up the hosting you prefer or manage it for you.

Do you offer ongoing maintenance?

Yes. After the post-launch support period, maintenance plans cover updates, security monitoring, uptime checks, backups and small development changes.
